Poetry by Christine Swiderski

Wind whips through the trees
sound of creaking with no leaves
winters furry bellows a call
It's icy reach touches all
Morning's darkness
still encompasses a chill in the air
Huddled beneath robe and slippers
grasping the first cup of coffee
steam emitting it's aroma
Fire lit upon the hearth
longing for Springs rebirth
Hearts are filled this month
Calendar sharing love
yet does the heart receive
gift of chocolate will cleave
the gift of love is huddled
between the layers of life
without this love
Blustery winds chill the heart
Tuck under the covers to cuddle
wrap your loves heart with warmth
Stave off the icy reach
Of winter winds grief
