Common to man by Christine Swiderski
Common to manChristine Swiderski
A litany of credentials
hallowing your noetic brilliance
Within the bounds of daily living
Common sense is sparse
In regards to relationships
Responsibility for daily living
Is left to anothers agile discernment
Street smarts coupled with
Common sense accomplishes more.
The plaques and diplomas on a wall
Does not hold as much weight
As the pure essence of integrity.
Puffed up beating ones chest
Merely proves your weakness
Not your strength in matters of the heart.
Steam creates vapor dissipating as it rises
As does the loftiness of any elite.
I chose the salt of the earth as a companion
knowing their contribution brings flavor
to my life as well as substance.
