Emotional Cage

Emotional Cage

Daily the struggle within
Stress of family and friends
Work Olympic personalities
Trying to draw me in
To their batting cages
I duck and shuffle
This dance is a sham
Within my heart I scream
Take me out of the game!
Yet each day is the same
Angers jealousy volleyed
My ears ring with each hit.
The crack of the bat
Leaves my head reeling
Do they not know life is short
Take an intermission
Or at least a 7th inning stretch
Change the game plan
Or just leave me out of the game.
I do not mind being benched.
