A smelly bat By Christine Swiderski

Night holds it’s secrets

The salty Bat passes overhead

Richly soaked in smelly sweat

I will not permit a nibble

upon my neck

Embarrassed by his snotty nose

He still tries to remain composed

Swooping down coming nearer to me

A sneeze pushed him back to the sea

Testier as the night darkens

I run to my home away from him

Closing the door as he came at me

I hear his body smack upon the door

he cannot get near me anymore

I laugh with a cackle and a grin

He said next year he will try again
